    Hoo Hoo!

    More Music ; )

    Thanks Paula!

I am listening to british dance bands and really wanting to hear more from the late 20's and early 30's.

If you *EVER* see anything...sheet music, pictures, web-stes books...etc.
relating to Whispering Jack Smith in your research...

    please let me know!

I have collected alot of his 78's but can't find much info on him : (

He had a lot more success in Great Britain even though he was from the USA.

    AMBROSE is STELLAR ; )

So is RAY NOBLE (especially when Al Bowlly is singing!)

I also like George Olsen alot...have you heard of him??

Jasmin Records has alot of old dance band music...

They are also getting ready to put out a CD of LEE MORSE music - previously unavailable on CD. Ian House - who made the exquisite Lee Morse web-site (www.LeeMorse.com) has comiled the music and is writing the liner notes for it...it should be out in about a month!

      HEADS UP!

Palo Alto Friends of the Library, which has a monthly sale of books, which is where I volunteer and price the music and dance books and ephemera, well, they/we just got a ton of great blues and jazz and motown and big band books... Palo Alto library is "discarding" some great stuff... mostly around 2 bucks...
